Just check the REFIO reference documents, and following are some terms used in the document. 

  • REFIO – Refers to the 28nm Reference IO block in any version or configuration
  • Calibration – Refers to the ability to externally adjust an analog parameter (such as a resistance or voltage) to within a specific tolerance using digital control bits.
  • RHIGH – Polysilicon-like resistor used in 28nm analog circuits
  • CMOS – Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (Logic)
  • CML – Current Mode Logic
  • PECL – Positive Emitter-Coupled Logic
  • LVDS – Low Voltage Differential Signaling
  • eFUSE – Chip level block which houses fuses that can be electrically blown to permanently store digital values (such as calibration bits)
  • ATE – Automated Test Equipment
  • SoC – System on a Chip
  • PCBA – Printed Circuit Board Assembly
  • Crystal Unit – Refers to the quartz crystal used as a resonator in conjunction with the amplifier within REFIO to create a reference clock.
  • Crystal Oscillator – Refers to the combination of the REFIO, the crystal unit, and external components which work together to create oscillation
  • SMD – Surface Mount Device (refers to device soldered to the surface of a PCBA)
  • PUR – Power Up Reset
  • OREF – Nominally 15MHz, free-running ring oscillator housed within the REFIO
